I like to think I'm being myself on my blog, but the truth is that I'm not.
It isn't purposeful. Oftentimes people don't attempt to change themselves. But we do. At least in small amounts, at certain times, in certain situations, etc.
I naturally behave differently with my mom than my dad than my best friend than my teachers, etc. It's not being fake. It's being conscientious!
It's also being multi-faceted.
You see a bit of me here, the piece of me present at that moment, by mood and question and whatever else. You see what is appropriate for the time. It may come off wrong when translated into words on a computer screen, or in accordance with your background and specific experiences, but the heart of the matter is 100% true.
Plus, the beauty of typing is I can fix my mistakes before broadcasting my words. In real-life, my brain moves faster than my mouth, and the more excited I am, the more I stumble. Here, I just type faster, forget things, and fix typos more.
Alright, enough sleepy ramblings the day before this is first shown!
I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

I know what you mean when we try to be ourselves on here...but really can't. I think if most of the people I interact with daily saw me on here they would think I'm a lot weirder than they ever thought.Â
I think many people really are different in different situations. It's hard to ever really get a handle on who we are.
@felonyawol - That feels like the price of internet to me. Seeming more or less weird than we truly are.
@la_faerie_joyeuse - Very true. And I love that about humanity! Things would be so boring if we were easily defined.
Brilliant musings. :D You never cease to amaze me with your understanding and wisdom about life.
